22 weeks to go before I reach my next milestone – 60 – and although I will have worked for almost 44 years, I won’t retire as I had hoped and expected when I entered the UK workforce. Sadly, not enough personal funds to do so of my own volition. Now I don’t want anger and bitterness to be uppermost in my mind as I reach the date I thought I would be able to slow down; I need to take control and bring some of my retirement actions forward. So, my 40 week countdown to 60 is about my picking up on some of those things I might want to pursue in retirement but bring them forward and get an early taster.

This week’s #MyTime is about keeping in touch with my geographical roots.  Birmingham is my home town and the place I will always go for my “city fix”.  So, #MyTime this week is a resolve to keep up those visits to Brum at least for as long as I am able, and, if ever I’m not, I will go there in my heart and mind.
